Hi, I’m Tamzin. I began training in Taekwondo in June 2003 and competed in my first national tournament as a yellow stripe in October 2003, winning a bronze medal in the team patterns event. I have since competed successfully in both local and national tournaments. I have also been successful in gradings, gaining credit passes in all but three of my gradings to date, and receiving three grading awards. Most recently I achieved my 4th Degree Black Belt in April 2019.
I am a fully qualified Taekwon-do and Little Dragon Instructor. I am First Aid and Child Safeguarding trained and fully DBS checked.
I am also an experienced Primary Teacher.
When I began my first teaching job at Broadhempston Primary School, teaching Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, I set up my first Little Dragon class as an after school club. This led on to teaching more Little Dragons classes through the week for my Instructor at the time and in 2005 I opened my first Taekwon-do club in South Brent which has been running ever since.
In 2012 I made the decision to become part time in my role as a school teacher so that I could focus more on my Martial Arts clubs and I expanded my classes into Torbay, Kingsteignton and Chudleigh.
In 2015 my husband and I adopted two children so I took a break from teaching and reduced the number of Taekwon-do classes I was running in order to focus on family. Now that my children are a bit older I have gone back into teaching and I am now teaching a mixed Year 3/4 class part time alongside running my Taekwon-do clubs in South Brent and Chudleigh. I now have the best of all worlds: family, teaching and Taekwon-do.
